Hong Kong Easter
Funny, I don't remember writing the last two posts. But of course only I could have.
"songs, come right out of the bricks [at me]" is a line from Joni Mitchell's song, "Furry Sings The Blues"...
And "the island" was the island of "Gran Canaria" where we played the final show of our European tour in '04.
Now, a good three months have passed, and I am again away from home, on a tour of the Far East and Pacific-rim-type countries.
It is Easter in Hong Kong. On the streets, groups of women sit on blankets, eating picnic lunches. Where are the men?
Is this a tradition here? Why would you sit on the pavement at the entrance to the subway, eating a picnic lunch? I don't understand it.
Our tour will last until my Birthday. I will be flying back to LA on that day.
I recently acquired Pro Tools LE and some microphones and a nice microphone preamp. I'd record now, but there seems to be some kind of celebration happening down on the street. It might be a Karaoke competition. I was awoken by the sound of the song "Dancing Queen" being played over and over again this morning. Anyway, they're still making noise down there. It's loud and would leak into the microphone. I hope this ends soon. I'd like to sketch out a new song or something.
It's humid out, the sky is a dank grey... I'm here on the 20th floor... wondering what my next move will be.
