Sights and sounds of Bahia, the beaches, the stars, the strange calls of birds, silence of the night; Pelourinho--the old city of Salvador; Rio de Janeiro, charmed city of a thousand dreams, and that magical one who entered my life there that first night, entering my heart; Sao Paulo, Vila Madalena, new friends, friends for life, a feeling for living, a feeling for being alive, a feeling for being... Lapa, Semente, Democraticos, Coqueirao, Orquestra Republicana, Chico, Lu, Fabinho, Moises, Scott, Alberto, Guilherme, Joao, Celso, Swami.... So many musicians, so many places, so much living.
And returning home, working with other friends for life, my favorite players, a truly magical collection of recordings. Totally focused and concentrated, cooperating, peaceful, and without negativity. A groove all around. The way it is now is how I often imagined my life to be when I was younger, and fantasizing about the future.
