dreambook

In my final dream of last night's sleep, Guy Clark showed up, teaching me and some other guy a couple of original songs.... They were beautiful and simple. While I smugly learned the chords quickly, the other guy was having trouble learning the songs, so Mr. Clark slowed down and really showed him how to play it. Mr. Clark didn't seem to have too much time for me.
The songs had beautiful lyrics, and the other fellow (the one who couldn't get the chords) was mostly tripping out on the imagery in the lyrics. When I awoke, I realized that these weren't Guy Clark's songs, they were MINE (somewhere inside me is there also a singer and lyricist?)... but the scribe in me hadn't tuned in enough to remember them---the lyrics or the chords!

Here's the one line I do remember: "I'm going to blow your mind, to see if I know how to live."

Dreams are projections, different aspects of self divided up and thrown onto the subconscious screen. The smug, "know-it-all" who isn't listening; the wide-eyed, tripped-out but a little slow to learn student; the master.
